Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can help reduce the appearance of facial pigmentation as well as fine lines and wrinkles resulting from sun exposure and aging changes. These procedures are used alone or in a series to tighten and improve your skin quality.

Dr. Lane is currently offering a variety of different chemical peels, tailored to each patient’s specific needs. These comfortable treatments have minimal downtime but give great results!

Obagi Blue Radiance

The Obagi Blue Radiance peel is a quick and easy peel with little to no downtime. It is great for patients looking to address any concerns of pigmentation. The peel will also tighten the skin, and improve the overall texture and tone. A series of four to six peels is recommended but this varies depending on the individual.

VI Peel®

The VI Peel® is designed to provide remarkable results with little downtime. This peel can help improve your overall skin tone, texture and appearance as well as soften fine lines and wrinkles. It will reduce or eliminate hyperpigmentation, age spots, freckles or acne scars. The VI Peel works well paired with any Dysport® or dermal filler treatments, or an upper lid surgery (blepharoplasty). You can expect to experience approximately four to five days of downtime with active peeling of the skin. Once the old layer of skin has peeled off, you will see fresh, glowing skin. All VI Peels are made up a blend of TCA, Tretinoic Acid, Salicylic Acid, Phenol, Vitamin C and a mineral blend.  It is recommended to do three treatments of the VI Peel per year for optimal results.

VI Peel® with Precision

VI Peel® with Precision is a stronger version of the VI Peel®, ideal for addressing any stubborn pigmentation, melasma or age spots. It is 25% stronger than the VI Peel® and has a high concentration of ingredients. Most patients start with a regular VI Peel® treatment and then proceed with the VI Peel Precision® for the best benefit.

TCA Peel (trichloroacetic acid)

What are TCA Peels used for?

TCA peels are most commonly used:

  • To reduce brown spots and age spots
  • To improve the texture of leathery and sun damaged skin
  • To improve melasma
  • To treat some types of acne
  • To reduce fine lines

When will I see the results from my TCA peel?

You will see noticeable results as soon as the layers of skin peel off from the treated area. This length of time can vary but generally it happens within 5-7 days after the peel is applied. Your skin should continue to improve but it’s very important to stay protected from the sun.

What does a TCA peel feel like? Is it painful?

The peel solution will then be applied and sometimes this is done in two stages. There is some stinging and a sensation of heat while the peel solution is active. We will then lay cool gauze pads and ice over the treated areas. Before you leave, we will apply Aquaphor to the treated areas to help calm the skin down.
